X Corp sends cease and desist to Nitter
X doesn’t letter third party readers access it’s content, note that’s not user’s content it belongs to X. You have to use it’s website and it’s apps yet it is somehow not responsible for said content.
Nitter is a mirror of X content and a useful tool for bloggers, linkers who don’t want to link to X, but where content or breaking stories are still centered.
Cease and desist On 24 August 2026 cease and desist letters have been sent by X Corp. demanding a permanent takedown of Nitter instances and the project’s repository.
nitter.net is offline and development has stopped for the time being. I’m seeking legal advice and won’t be commenting further on the specifics for now.
